ZakatCal.com is a free, privacy-first Zakat calculator built for the global Muslim community. It supports 50+ countries with localized currencies, live gold and silver prices, and all five major Fiqh schools (Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali, Jafari).

## Status

This project is currently in **beta**. Features are functional but under active development.

- **AI Recipient Verifier** — AI-powered tool to verify if a potential recipient qualifies for Zakat based on the 8 categories from Surah At-Tawbah (9:60).
- **Education Hub** — Articles on Zakat Fiqh, common mistakes, modern investment Zakat, and comparisons across schools of thought.
- **Multi-currency** — Supports 50+ countries with auto-detected location and localized Nisab thresholds using live metal prices.
- **Multi-language** — Available in English and Bangla, with more languages planned.
- **Export** — Download your calculation as PDF or Excel spreadsheet.

## Zakat Rate

The standard Zakat rate is **2.5%** of net Zakatable wealth above the Nisab threshold.

## Nisab

Nisab is calculated using live gold (87.48g) and silver (612.36g) prices. The calculator uses the gold standard by default, with Fiqh school adjustments available.
